Lower number of treatments
In comparison to the laser method, the number of treatments with Skinial tattoo removal is substantially lower. For small tattoos (up to 16 sq cm), depending on the form, it usually only requires 3 to 4 tattoo removal is clearly cheaper than tattoo removal method with laser.
No residue in the body
The tattoo ink leaves the body through the surface of the skin and the removal liquid will be completely degraded by the body’s natural metabolism within hours. No pollutants remain in the body after Skinial tattoo removal!
Less pain
Tattoo removal with Skinial is generally less painful than the original tattooing.
What results can be expected?
A tattoo is not a graffiti
Clients’ expectations of tattoo removal are often very high. They think tattoos can be removed in every size and location so that the skin looks the same as before the tattooing. This expectation cannot be guaranteed by any tattoo removal method. A scar-free tattoo removal cannot be guaranteed. It depends far more on the individual’s skin characteristics and the genetic condition of the client, than the removal method used.
The skin is a living organ, unlike a wall with graffiti which can easily be removed. Therefore, everybody reacts differently. A good result is if you can no longer see any of the tattoo at a distance of one metre. In our detailed consultation before beginning of the treatment, we discuss your expectations and the feasible result.
In the majority of tattoos that we have removed, you could not recognize the former tattoo with the naked eye. You can expect results with a small tattoo after 2 to 3 treatments and for the skin to return to normal at the healing process process between each treatment which takes 8 to 10 weeks. The skin will often need even more time for the last of the redness to disappear. A larger tattoo clearly needs a longer period for the removal. The larger the tattoo, the greater the risk of scarring.
What are the risks?
The tattoo ink is not completely out
It is rare that the tattoo ink remains visible with Skinial tattoo removal method. However, there are good reasons why the natural rejection may only partially work and the ink remains in the skin. In most cases, the amount of ink in the tattoo was so large that only part could be rejected to the surface of the skin. It is also possible that the tattoo was tattooed so deeply into the skin that it is not possible for the liquid to reach it. If the tattoo was tattooed by a professional tattooist, this is rarely the case. Also the influence of medications, drugs and local anaesthetic can lead to a reduced rejection of the ink.
A special situation is a tattoo pre-treated with laser. Depending on the condition of the subcutaneous tissue, the skin cold have lost the natural rejection function by use of the laser. When and if this is the case, it is difficult to ascertain. Some people have after only a few laser treatments a completely scarred subcutaneous tissue, and others have good working rejection ability even after ten laser treatments a completely scarred subcutaneous tissue, and others have good working rejection ability even after ten laser treatments. To determine this, it is recommended to wait for the result of a patch test of a single dot/circle.
Scar formation
According to a medical study, 5% of the population tend to have hypertrophic scars, younger rather than older, and women rather than men. Basically, every tattoo is a permanent skin injury which can lead to pigment disturbances and microscopic scars. In 20% of tattoos, it is possible to see scarring before the removal process.
The objective of optimal tattoo removal without laser is to achieve as close as possible the visual impression of normal skin. Depending on skin type, location of the tattoo, age of the client, and his or her general health situation (smoker, on medications, frequent consumption of alcohol, etc.), the healing phase can be longer (up to one year) to achieve the desired end result. In comparison to the laser method, the Skinial tattoo removal method has a much lower risk of scar formation and skin pigment disorder. More about this on our expert knowledge section.
